Position: Cloud Architect Location: Minneapolis, MN Job Id: 1196 of Openings: 1 Cloud Architect | Full-Time | Grand Rapids or Minneapolis Preferred As a Cloud Architect you will work to design architectures and solutions as part of Vervint's Enterprise Architecture methodology. You will bring your subject matter expertise, working with clients to meet their business needs. Specifically, this role will create technical designs in one or more areas of expertise, either independently, or as part of a multi-domain solution headed by a Solution Architect. You will have conversations and host interviews with different stakeholders at various levels in customer organizations, such as: With client leadership to learn how best to adopt technologies, and the best practices to implement. With Solution Architects building multi-domain solutions for our customers. With an Enterprise Architect about building applications out of services, application security models, role-based access control or messaging patterns. With an IT Professional about the specific specialty. What You'll Accomplish: Domain Expertise: Viewed as a domain expert internally, serving as a subject matter expert, creating technical designs for work delivered by Vervint, either as a stand-alone project focused on one technology/domain, or part of a larger solution bringing together multiple domains of expertise. Provide thought-leadership and guidance on architectural principles, patterns, and methodologies within your domain. Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their business objectives, technical requirements, and challenges within your domain. Collaborate with clients to develop architecture strategies, roadmaps, and solutions that address their needs and align with their business goals. Develops new relationships with customer stakeholders and maintains relationships with client technology or business process ownership, often the manager or team lead of a client team that leverages the domain. Demonstrates thought leadership on engagements to steer clients to desired business outcomes. Architecture Development: Create technical designs within your domain of focus for specific requirements. Lead the design and development of scalable, resilient, and secure architecture solutions within your domain of focus. Create architecture artifacts, including solution designs, technical specifications, and architecture diagrams, to communicate and document architectural solutions. Technical Leadership: Participates in sprint planning, retros, and other needed ceremonies to ensure the team understands what each work item is, and how to go about the work to ensure it achieves the required outcomes. May play a technical project manager role on smaller, single-domain projects. Contributes to, or aligns, outcomes. Assembles the tasks and estimates of work for their specific domain's delivered outcomes. Mentor others that are working toward a Domain Architect role, actively initiating mentorship relationships with peers on the same team. Demonstrated leadership across 1-8 engagements. Risk Management: Identify potential risks, issues, and dependencies related to architecture solutions within your domain. Define the key requirements, limitations, and assumptions that are needed to control risk. Work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure successful project delivery. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of architecture solutions. Participate in strategic planning organized by the Enterprise Architect, representing their domain. Communicate complex technical concepts, and architectural decisions clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Provides input while contracts are drafted contracts. Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices within your domain and help clients and other team members understand where the domain is going, and how that can be leverage in their strategy. Continuously assess and improve architectural processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and quality. What You'll Bring: Expertise in a specific domain (Cloud) Subject matter expertise in several skills, typically within a single domain. Strong understanding of architectural principles, patterns, and methodologies, including microservices architecture, cloud computing, and DevOps practices. Proficient in software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or KanBan. Expertise in testing methodologies. Ability to design small to medium scale technical architectures to meet customer needs. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels. Experienced presenting to small internal and/or external groups. Experience developing new relationships with customer stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. A mindset that is comfortable working at the intersection of technology and business. Relevant certifications (eg. TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree, or master's degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience. At least 10 years of information technology or software development experience. At least 5 years of experience creating technical architectures as well as in the following areas: Hands-on practice with Azure DevOps, Cloud Data Architecture, Azure Active Directory/Entra ID, Azure Migrate, and Azure SQL. Proficiency in Azure Networking, Azure Sentinel, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Storage, and Azure DevOps Pipeline. Expertise in CI/CD Pipeline, Terraform, Cloud App Security, Compliance, and Conditional Access. Strong background in Governance, Identity Protection, Identity Access Management, Privileged Access Management, and Privileged Identity Management. At least 3 years of filling a lead technical role on a team, providing technical leadership, or acting as a technical project manager for one or more engagements. Apply for this Position
