Desktop Technician - Temporary Refresh Job details Posted 27 September 2024 Location El Segundo, CA 90245 Job type Permanent Reference 938832 Job description Dexian has an immediate opportunity available for a Desktop Technician with our premier aerospace customer. This is a temporary position for a current project that is expected to end 31 December 2024. The Desktop Technician will distribute new computer equipment to client employees, update the employee profile in ServiceNow, accept old equipment and update ServiceNow with the new device status (e.g.: In-Stock, Pending Disposal, etc.). Wrap-up duties may include packaging and mailing remaining equipment to employees who could not pickup tokens in person. The Desktop Technician shall: Provide maintenance of computing devices, associated peripherals, and approved software. Install and maintain hardware and software on devices and associated peripherals. Install all upgrades (memory, hard drives, etc.) and peripheral devices. Provide the appropriate office support to coordinate and schedule new equipment installations. Monitor and update ServiceNow to ensure that all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met and make updates to ServiceNow asset records. Assist in coordinating, scheduling, and performing relocations and re-installations of equipment. Perform periodic physical audits of end user computing devices to compare with ServiceNow records (deployment location, storage location, and assignee information). JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS: Three (3) years' experience in an IT support role, preferably as a Desktop (Desk Side) or Help Desk technician. Intermediate knowledge supporting enterprise level PC's to include: McAfee suite of security products (i.e., ENS, DLP, MDE) Hardware support experience (i.e., swapping hard drive, fan, motherboard) Troubleshooting HP systems Maintaining and troubleshooting VoIP devices (i.e., Cisco Call Manager/Unity) Installing/supporting/ troubleshooting Windows and Mac OS devices, MS Office, network connectivity issues, etc., and performing system (re)imaging using LANDesk or other imaging technologies. Data transfers using USMT. Inventory management, shipping and receiving, asset management. Includes: warehouse processes for shipping/receiving packages, asset tags, unboxing, return merchandise authorization (RMA) tracking. Good verbal and written communication skills with a high focus on customer service. Experience in leading technicians and/or administrators. Ability to provide solutions to user problems to ensure user satisfaction and productivity. Advanced understanding of service delivery framework. Ability to plan and prioritize their work assignments to meet deadlines/SLAs in a fast-paced environment without supervision. Working knowledge of the ServiceNow ticketing system required. This position requires an active Department of Defense security clearance at the Secret level security clearance at time of hire or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. citizens ONLY are eligible for a security clearance and this position. EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. College coursework in IT studies preferred. IAT Level-1 Technical Training Certification (e.g.: CompTIA A) preferred, Security recommended. COMPENSATION: Dexian reasonably expects to offer $27.91/hour to $32.84/hour for this position plus benefits to include health, vision and dental insurance, matching 401k, and generous time off.
