Mid-Level Database Administrator

Job Purpose
The Mid-Level Database Administrator manages Microsoft SQL Server databases, including setup, configuration, and maintenance. Responsibilities include ensuring database integrity, implementing security measures, managing user access, performing regular backups, and optimizing database performance. This role is also responsible for generating reports as requested by DPW personnel and troubleshooting issues to maintain efficient database operations. 0700-1600, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays
Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Designing websites, generating and revising web pages, working with content contributors, and replying to user comments for internet, extranet, and intranet sites.Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user's specialized roleDesign and implement database in accordance to end users' information needs and viewsDefine users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely mannerUse high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup dataMinimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responsesProvide proactive and reactive data management support and training to usersDetermine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standardsPerform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrityMonitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when requiredEnsure web sites and products are compliant.Providing regular status reports to management summarizing progress, challenges, metrics, and recommendations.Collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination.Update operations and user documentation as neededAssisting in the development of new initiatives.Carry out special tasks at Management's direction.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree computer discipline or relevant certification.Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing SQL Server databases.Experience with database security, backups, and recovery operations.Familiarity with SQL scripting and database optimization techniques.Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.Proven working experience as a Database Administrator
