Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Senior
Network Administrator
to support a Defense Threat Reduction Agency mission by ensuring day-to-day operations and high availability of a wide area network that spans redundant data centers and more than 60 geographically separated sites worldwide.
Location:
Albuquerque, NM or Fort Belvoir, VA
Works with Cisco networking devices and firewalls, KG-175 family of encryptors, and various network management tools.
Monitors network performance and troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to maintain operating efficiency and ensure quality transmission service on the network.
Uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve complex issues and communicates the issues effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Configures, implements, and troubleshoots: Virtual Local Area Networks, Access Control Lists, 802.1x port-based network access control, Virtual Private Networks, Network Time Protocol, Simple Network Management Protocol version 3, Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Microsoft’s Network Policy Server, and General Dynamics’ GEM One Encryptor Manager.
Configures and secures: Cisco switches and firewalls, network encryption devices specifically KG-175 family, network printers, and network KVMs in accordance with industry/security best practices and DISA STIG checklist.
Develops, modifies, and updates process and technical documentation, logical network diagrams that include physical layout and location of devices and the connection between devices participating on the network, technical implementation plans and related reports.
Evaluates existing network systems to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements. Analyzes customer requirements to determine optimal network solutions.
Provides network cable management, tests, and troubleshoots CAT 5e, CAT 6, CAT 6a, and multi-mode fiber cables. Also terminates copper cables as required.
Evaluates and recommends networking products and software upgrades
Maintains operating efficiency and stability, and ensures the security and integrity of all systems and data
Function in a "Tier 3" support role, resolving the most complex network issues escalated by Tier 2 support
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve as a team or task lead

The likely salary range for this position is $88,275 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
