JOB DESCRIPTION

Salary Grade: G08Minimum Midpoint Maximum$58,128 - $77,021 - $95,912

SUMMARY:Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all internal and external transactions related to TNMPs Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). Develops in-depth knowledge of the AMI and continually works to improve system efficiency and effectiveness. Ensures that TNMP remains compliant with all Advanced Metering System (AMS) related market transaction requirements. Establishes relationships and provides guidance to internal and external stakeholders, such as IT, strategic vendors, Retail Electric Providers (REPs), other Transmission and Distribution Service Providers (TDSPs), and ERCOT.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Continually monitors and resolves AMI exceptions throughout the transaction life cycleEnsures Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is performed for all exceptions resolved, and use this as input into fixes and future enhancementsDevelops and tracks a standard set of metrics to ensure that TNMPs AMI remains accurate and efficientServes as the SME for critical system components that support AMI transactionsPrepares business requirements and provide thought-leadership on internal development efforts related to AMI transactions and integration within TNMPs back-office systemsLiaises with TNMP vendors (notably Itron) to ensure ongoing integration support is optimized for transaction processingParticipates in market working groups related to AMI transactions and stays current on new and changing requirementsDevelops and maintains use cases and test scripts to ensure transaction functionality is adequately tested prior to releasing to productionServes as the key approver for all system changes related to AMI transaction functionalityResponds to various data requests, produces metric reports, and provides ad hoc data extractsParticipates in a variety of moderately advanced, concurrent, and variable duration operational and AMI projectsGuarantees the integrity of transactional and billing data and provides analytical support for AMI synchronization; provides billing analysis to correct or adjust due to transactional errors or disputesMonitors and resolves AMI Marketrak issuesRepresents Company before ERCOT and the Public Utility Commission of Texas

COMPETENCIES:Working knowledge of ERCOT Retail Market Guide, and ERCOT transaction protocolsIn-depth knowledge of TNMP policies and procedures and AMI processesWorking knowledge of TEXAS SET rules and guidelinesWorking knowledge of database structures and database query toolsWorking knowledge of Marketrak system and procedures and protocolsAbility to effectively handle concurrent assignmentsAbility to make sound decisions that support the Company's goals and missions as they pertain to AMI requirements

QUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting or Business from a four-year college or university, with three to five years AMS utility experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.Masters degree preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to communicate professionally and accurately with all market participants and stakeholders of varying operational and technical backgroundsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumeAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

COMPUTER SKILLS:Strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required. Manual dexterity is required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:Office environment.Some travel may be required.
