12 hrs shifts, 6:45-7:15Schedules made out about 2-3 weeks ahead of time initially and then they try to schedule them out 9 weeks in advanceSelf-scheduling for the most part4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule, Days - Sat/Sun, Nights - Fri/SatWork into perm staff rotationUnit Specific Information
Unit: Tele - 4WestNumber of beds: 22 bedsPatient-Nurse Ratio: 1 to 3-4Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 3-4 days post-op CABG, surgical thoracic, stroke, cardiac, etc.EMR: CernerOne charge nurse for all 74 beds (2 West, 4West, and 2 central)3 nurse aides to cover all 74 beds of these three unitsScrubs: navyMonitoring: Phillips - monitor tech available, nurses must be able to read and interpret, will have to take dysrhythmia examPatients may use bipap or cpapHospitalist or Intensivist in house: yesIV Team: noRT 24/7: yesPharmacy 24/7: yesFloating required to IMCU or 2 Central - all tele unitsFloor specific orientation: 1 shift on unitAdditional Details
