Your future belongs at the home of the Excellent ChickenBell and Evans JOB SUMMARY: It is the lead's responsibility to oversee all duties and projects of the QA technicians as well as develop their skills and understanding of the food safety and quality system. The lead role is a very hands-on, highly interactive role in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment. The lead will seek and drive continuous improvement of all aspects of the food safety and quality system. The ability to quickly assess risk, lead a team to a decision point, and ensure plans are executed are critical skills required to perform this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned. Perform all QA technician's duties as required. These include but are not limited to, pre-operational inspection, monitoring process controls, performing sample collection for microbiological or chemical testing, troubleshooting and takes appropriate corrective action when deviations occur, performs quality audits, investigates customer feedback and internal incidents, monitors employees for proper work conduct including but not limited to GMP's, SOP's and SSOP's, review paperwork for accuracy, interact with USDA FSIS inspection staff and plant management teams, review monthly goals and continuous improvement projects with supervisor Develop QA technician skills and understanding of food safety and quality system Evaluate process flows and controls for adherence to the HACCP plan Assess data generated by QA and production teams to identify trends and develop plans to drive improvement Drive agreed-upon continuous improvement projects Lead team meetings with QA team and Plant management teams Conduct non-routine tasks (GMP audits, Glass/Brittle, Retention Program, Internal Audits) Evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions and preventative measures Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Supervisor Assume supervisor roles when the supervisor is absent. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE : 1-3 years of experience in a Quality assurance role in a food manufacturing facility or college education in a related degree.
