Our Advanced Engineering team is integral to the success of defining and bringing our innovative products to market. This position will join a team of technical experts who manage our exploratory research and development prior to the New Product Development teams starting the product development process. Help define the future as part of Sub-Zero Group's Advanced Engineering team. In this position you will investigate and develop new technologies, features, and product concepts for luxury household appliances. Growth and development are important aspects of this position. Whether you aspire to be a leader or a technical expert, this position will set you up for success in the future. Primary Responsibilities Primary responsibility is new technology development. This position will develop and deploy new technologies for luxury kitchen appliances focusing on materials, coatings, and finishes. Discover, develop, and deliver technologies to improve overall product design concepts following regulatory, safety, and internal standards using sound engineering principles and methods. Evaluate technology alternatives based on cost, performance, quality and production feasibility. Work with functional teams and suppliers to keep tasks on schedule and meet the technology requirements. Establish test procedures to validate technologies. Guide designers and technicians to coordinate their efforts to meet project goals. Lead and participate in Technical Readiness analysis relative to the design and process aspects of the technologies. Participate in cross functional team events for brainstorming, road-mapping, concept evaluation, test data evaluation. Engage in creating intellectual property as well as investigating and monitoring competitive IP landscapes. Additional considerations: Knowledge of appliance industry desired Need strong oral and written communication Ability to learn on the fly required Familiarity of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, materials science, and mechanical systems Strong critical thinking skills required Travel Required Yes.
