Position Overview Stanley is looking for an ambitious and innovative Senior Technical Developer (Softgoods) to join our product creation team. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to be part of a world-class team dedicated to crafting flawless products for our softgoods program. You will be instrumental in completing successful product launches, collaborating with internal and external partners to exceed our integrity, performance, and innovation standards. This is a full-time position based in our Seattle, WA office and a hybrid role. Responsibilities Partner with Product Management, Industrial Design, Sourcing, and additional internal teams to drive innovative material development for our softgoods program. Stay up to date on emerging trends, technologies, and processes in fiber, yarn, finish, print, fabric, and all related trims for our categories, with a focus on balanced materials. Communicate daily with merchandise sourcing teams and suppliers worldwide to implement brand/product vision for new product materials and trims. Confirm with Quality & Compliance that all new products meet testing requirements and ensure testing documentation is completed and recorded. Actively participate in quality review of samples and shipments, ensuring accurate tracking and communication of product development status to all collaborators. Manage physical samples on and offsite, ensuring development samples are organized, accessible, and managed through seasonal storage and archives. Coordinate projects, processes, and workflows that typically impact multiple internal clients and many external customers, bringing accountability, clear communication, and proactive execution. Present knowledge of seasonal product and color trends to softgoods categories. Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal direction. Foster and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners across our supplier base and throughout Stanley. Education & Experience 5 years of experience in softgoods product innovation, material, and trim development, with a preference for carry gear, luggage, handbag, and accessory development. Experience with soft goods construction methods and documentation, with a strong understanding of textile and trims manufacturing, including dyeing, finishing, printing, and molding. Experience using and managing PLM systems, project management software, and creation of technical specification documentation. A Bachelor's degree in Softgoods Development, Textile Science, Engineering, or Design is preferred, although equivalent experience will also be considered. The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on multiple factors, such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.
