VMware Engineer

Primary Purpose - Onsite in Millsboro, DEResponsible for managing and implementing enterprise-wide virtual environments to support critical data, network, and application infrastructure.Major Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and manage VMware vSphere. Maintain virtualized architecture using vCenter. Manage the Cisco unified computing system (UCS) administration. Install/Provision all UCS domain components including fabric interconnects, chassis, blades, service profiles, pools, policies, templates, and firmware.Develop and deploy customized VMware solutions, Virtualizing Windows and Linux servers and connecting them to clients infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve VMware environment issues.Manage storage allocation, space, and replication strategies.Build good relations with team members and customers.Protect company assets; promote a culture of safety.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science.5+ years experience in Microsoft Windows Server Administration to include Server 2012, 2016 and 2019 operating systems.3+ years experience in virtual machine (VM) template design and leveraging vCenter Operations Manager to its right size, virtual servers.3+ years experience with server consolidation/virtualization for hardware reduction and site migrations via virtual to virtual (V2V) and physical to virtual (P2V).3+ years experience installing/provisioning all UCS domain components including fabric interconnects, chassis, blades, service profiles, pools, policies, templates and firmware.VMware certifications preferred in Data Center Virtualization, VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and/or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP Design or VCAP Deploy).Project management skills.ADDITONAL INTAKE INFO:The position is a part of the infrastructure team of 13 people who service the entirety of the clients Infrastructure.There are designated members/team for Network / Telecom / Backup & Recovery.You are directly working with 3 other team members who support the Virtualization and Systems Administration for IT.The day-to-day task for Virtualization includes ( but not limited to ) :1) vSphere / vCenter / ESXi / VM management, enhancement & troubleshooting. Patching, Upgrades, Migration.2) New Virtualization Infrastructure Deployments, bring in/implement task Automation ideas and act as tier 2/3 support for Tickets through Service Now.3) Cisco UCS X / Cisco HyperFlex / HPE Simplivity / Pure Storage / QNAP hardware troubleshooting, support and firmware enhancements.4) Work with Software Support to stay up to-date in compliance with Cyber Security requirements.5) Collaborate with the Infrastructure team/ Assist the team for any new requirements from management.
