The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT's preferred partners.Job Title: Linux Server AdministratorLocation: Portland, OR (locals required - onsite)Duration: 12 monthsJob Description:Linux Server Admin - mid-level tier 2-4, responsible for tickets that tier 1 MSP cannot perform.We are seeking a skilled Linux Server Administrator to join our team in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our Linux server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.Responsibilities:Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related hardware and software.Monitor system performance and ensure the reliability and availability of server resources.Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures.Ensure data security and compliance with company policies and industry standards.Collaborate with IT and other departments to support business operations and projects.Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.Qualifications:Proven experience as a Linux Server Administrator or similar role.Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).Experience with network services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, NFS).Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, RHCSA) are a plus.
