Schedule: Office - On Site Recruiter: Cynthia Harrall JOB SUMMARY: Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships: The organization of Operational Modeling & Advanced Operations under the Networks Business is responsible for the coordination and leadership of the technology evolution within the Energy Control Centers (ECC). As a core piece of OM & AO, the organization of Operational Technology Projects is focused on systems, processes and technologies. The position to cover is the control center system applications within this organization. Responsible for Avangrid Control Systems as part of our ECC projects, architecture design, functional specifications, technical requirements, and associated project implementation oversight. The ECC related project (ADMS/EMS, FERC881, FERC2222, iTOA, etc.) control system portfolio includes, but is not limited to the following applications: Energy Management System (EMS), Transmission Network Applications (TNA), SCADA, Distribution Management Systems (DMS), Geographical Information Systems (GIS), etc. Specifically, will support the Real Time Control Systems technical and engineering elements associated with AVANGRID Control Systems upgrade as well as actively participate in the definition of requirements for EMS, SCADA and ADMS projects. Liaise with Team on application of local and global practices will be a fundamental part of its role. MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities): Provide technical subject matter expert for our Energy Control Center (ECC) projects (ADMS/EMS, FERC 2222, FERC 881, iTOA, etc.) working along side the technical project manager, supporting all aspects of our system upgrade across all Avangrid electric utility companies Active participation with P&T, and various other Avangrid resources covering the full Project life, from technical specifications to project deployment, go live and maintenance in order to align project with global requirements and needs. Define, document, and confirm the requirements of all areas of Avangrid in relation to their needs within our OT Projects group led ECC efforts. Develop business specifications aligned with operation procedures. Active participation with the networks business areas involved in the deployment of the Smart Grid, identification of requirements, and future needs. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education & Experience Required: Associate's degree in Electrical Technology or a related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Equivalent work experience may be substituted. At least five to six years of related experience in a technical environment. Working knowledge of SCADA technology, electric applications, and electric operations. Good knowledge of computer applications. Other relevant knowledge: GIS systems Knowledge of relevant regulations and policies. Experience in projects dealing with people and responsibilities from different countries Skills/Abilities: Strong analytical, complex problem solving and successful negotiation skills Experience with Information/Operations Technology design and implementation Experience in building technical specifications and business processes procedures. Experience and proactive mind and capacity to lead discussions with managers and senior technicians within the organization to meet priorities and resolve issues Familiarity with software repository programs Experience with Real Time systems such as Electric and Gas SCADA and infrastructure subject to regulation Results oriented and proactive Competency Requirements: It is preferred that for this job, the candidate fulfills the requirements in terms of levels indicated below.
