Job Summary:

Tucker Mechanical, Inc. is looking for a qualified individual to join our company as the IT Support Specialist. This role assists Tucker Mechanical's IT Manager with performing entry level technical responsibilities. Provides technical assistance, answer questions, trains and resolves problems associated with computer, iPad and phone users in person, or via telephone or electronically. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including software updates, printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Initially assists IT Manager with hardware and software configuration as well as device and printer set up. Eventually, the IT Support Specialist will be required to take the lead on these tasks.Learns quickly and can work independently while apprising IT Manager of concerns or issues where assistance is needed.Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.Antivirus and patch management and monitoring for computer and server operating systemsRead technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software.Communicates respectfully and effectively with management and co-workers.Continue to take on more responsibilities as technical proficiency increases as directed by the IT Manager.Desktop computer support

Provide technical assistance for employees regarding hardware, software and networking (troubleshoot networking issues, software conflicts, hardware issues, process user moves and changes)Guide users with step-by-step instructions.Follow up with internal customers to ensure workstations are functional, printer services are working and email is available.Conduct remote troubleshooting (ask targeted questions to diagnose problems, Test alternative solutions until issue is resolved, direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel, record technical issues and solutions in logs)Mobile device support

Mobile phone configuration (assign phone to specific user, configure email, deploy required applications, set device security)Tablet configuration (assign tablet to specific user, configure required applications, device security)Mobile device management (validate devices in the system, push new applications to user devices as they become available, push application updates as needed, maintain device security)Asset inventory management

Enter new equipment into tracking system database (receives equipment, deploys asset tag, records equipment specifications and serial numbers)Retires out of date equipment securely (retires equipment from the asset database, stores equipment securely until ready for proper disposal)Ensures asset recovery upon employee departure (collaborate with managers/HR to recover assets in a timely fashion, determine who gets access to departed employee data, determine status of email, updates asset status in tracking system, securely stores asset for next use)Computer setup

Software installation (install user specific software per user manager instructions)Email setup (coordinate with EMCOR to create user email database)Qualifications:

Associate's degree and/or Technical Training in Information Technology preferred. (High School diploma or GED required)BSc in Computer Science or relevant field or equivalent work experience a plus.2yrs experience as a Desktop Support Technician or similar roleDemonstrated Windows Operating System and iOS proficiency.Experience with Microsoft Office 365Familiar with installing and troubleshooting the Microsoft Windows Operating SystemFamiliar with updating and patching Microsoft Windows Operating System and Windows Compatible applicationsAble to work scheduled work hours.Required Attributes:
