Job Summary
Caterpillar has been leveraging AI for years to deliver processes and products. Generative AI is a form of artificial intelligence which has a human-level of cognitive function, across a wide variety of domains such as language processing, image processing, computational functioning to mimic human-like reasoning. GenAI is an emerging technology that will play a vital role in profitable growth for Caterpillar.
Cat IT is working hard to enable a safe environment where the business can innovate and thrive. They have developed an Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence to operationalize Caterpillar IT's GenAI COE services to deliver business value by developing deep expertise to be able to scale and drive efficiencies, ensure we are providing solutions using the right technology, and has approved below roles to support the growing demand for GenAI COE services.
What You Will Do:Provide technical leadership for all aspects of environment management such as database lifecycle management, monitoring, support, disaster recovery, compliance, and standards.Research new data platform features, tools, and technologies with an Enterprise perspective to meet customer needs while maintaining a secure data environment.Research, benchmark, and suggest improvements to database support processes, customer experience (CX) improvements, and compliance requirements.Provide 4th level support for complex issues.Participate in and manage data related projects, audits, and compliance reviews and testing.Develop new and update existing data platform related documentation as needed.Coach and communicate information to Caterpillar's application support teams and peers across the enterprise on Snowflake technology changes, new features, key projects, and customer experience improvements.What You Have:
Bachelor's Degree and IT related experienceStrong experience in cloud or vector database administrationDetailed driven, analytical with problem-solving skillsStrong skills in communication and collaborationUnderstanding of data pipeline engineering and ETL / ELT toolsStrong programming skills and working knowledge of Java script, procedural SQL, and PythonAdvanced skills in database performance and SQL query tuningDatabase design and management experienceBasic networking experienceKnowledge of data warehousing principlesTechnical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.Provides effective technical solutions to complex functional challenges via sound technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.Effectively performs the technical job aspects, continuously building knowledge and keeping up-to-date on technical and procedural job components.Applies technical operating and project standards based on achieving excellence in delivered products, technologies and services.Applies current procedures and technologies to help resolve technical issues in one's general area of technical competence.Helps others solve technical or procedural problems or issues.Preferred:

Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary for this role ranges from $142,080 - $213,000 Actual salary will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:
