Job Summary Success Mortgage is currently seeking an experienced Loan Officer to handle company leads and serve the emerging market we are building. The Mortgage Loan Officer will interview customers to collect and analyze customer financial information, advise customers on the risks and benefits of various mortgage products, and help select the appropriate loan program.
Responsibilities and Duties
Interview customer(s) and secure a complete loan application preferably before, but if not, definitely within 3 days of the purchase agreement.Review leads daily and contact borrowers via telephone and email in an attempt to obtain their loan application.Recommend to customers the appropriate mortgage loan product to best fit the customer's financial and individual needs.Achieve loan decision within five days of loan application.Achieve Conditional Loan Approval I status within thirty days of application date.Participate in in-house relationship building functions.Be accessible to the buyers and associates and return calls the same day.Build rapport with and maintain open lines of communication with borrowers, realtors, and processors. Provide outstanding customer service.Maintain reports and notes within the origination computer system to ensure complete exchange of information regarding loan application, loan status, conversations with customers, underwriting, lock-in information, monthly projected closings, incentive and expense reports.Participate in weekly "Pipeline" meetings with processor(s) or phone calls as required with full working knowledge of each file. Assist loan processing and closing departments to facilitate accurate and expeditious processing and closing of loans.Travel to meet with borrowers and obtain loan applications as necessary.Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience:
A High School Diploma or GEDAbility to pass national licensing exam (or hold current license)NMLS license in at least one of these states to begin: VA, MD, WV, DE, PA, FL, TXOne to two years as a Loan Officer is preferred but will train to allow time to test for the license.General financial industry experienceAbility to maintain flexible work schedule, including evening and weekend workStrong computer background with 1 to 2 years' experience in mortgage softwareStrong verbal, written communication skills and strong interpersonal skillsStrong advisory and customer service abilities as well as attention to detail and excellent organizational skillsExcellent analytical capabilitiesSelf-starter & Strong work ethicGeneral office skills - ability to answer and coordinate telephone calls, take written messages, and perform light bookkeepingAbility to study material independentlyAbility to drive motor vehicle legallyMust be able to build relationships with real estate professionalsMust be able to pick up on new processes quicklyPossess positive & professional attitude & represent the company positivelyFollow posted work rules and procedures
