About usCulture and Fit:As a quickly growing company we all "do whatever it takes" to get our products shipped out to our customers, on time with excellent quality and service.Our ideal candidate is excited to jump in and have an impact wherever he or she is needed building an American design and manufacturing company, supplying parts for the DIY furniture maker market.Position Summary:Monday-FridayOpenings for both shifts:1st Shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM2nd Shift: 2:00PM - 10:30PMThe primary responsibility of a Fabricator for Semi Exact is fabricating furniture legs from sheet metal, tube steel and flat bar.Essential Functions:- Weld and grind assigned jobs by following all safety guidelines while using required PPE. (MIG welding)- Cut components to length- Bend components to spec- Examine workpieces for defects, and measure workpieces to ensure conformance with specifications.- Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using ruler, jigs and clamps in combination.- Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commencing.- Comply with fabrication and safety standards and procedures. Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.- Complete housekeeping duties in assigned areas or project areas on a daily basis and/or when required.- Complete assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications.- Complete required paperwork.- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.Secondary Functions:In addition to the standard of fabrication duties, this position can and will include - Helping with shipping and fulfillment,- Moving machinery- Cleaning the shop- Running general errands.Knowledge / Skills / Expertise:- HS education plus +1 year experience with fabrication experience a plus.- Must be able to work with a computer for data entry and work orders.- Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic equipment.- Must be able to read a tape measure, level, and square.- Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently. - Good verbal communication skills.Equipment:- Welder- Forklift- Hand tools- Power tools- Precision measuring tools - Drill Press- Chop Saw- Bending MachinesEnvironmental Conditions:Temperature and Humidity level may be elevated during summer months. Possible exposure to certain contaminants, at times.Exposure to loud noise levels, at times.Physical Demands:This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials.The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel toed shoes, gloves, helmets and hearing protection is utilized daily.Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs without physical restrictions.This is a 40 hour per week job to start with occasional mandatory overtime.
