As a
Manual Machinist
you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
What You'll Do :
Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain shop machineryCalculate dimensions and tolerance using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and veneer calipersAlign and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, machines and materials onto machinesMonitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining processMachine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grindersMeasure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instrumentsSet controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control mediaPerform preventative and predictive maintenance on shop equipmentWhat You'll Need:
High school diploma or GED required; Technical diploma in related area of study, such as Precision Machining, preferred.4 Years of manual machining experienceExperience using precision measuring tools and equipmentAbility to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines.Ability to interpret technical manuals.Perks of Working with OTC Industrial Technologies:
