Job Summary
Responsible for assisting designated machine operator or production team in a variety of functions including, but not limited to maintenance, clean up, yard work, warehouse, production, utilities, material handling and other. Manually move freight, stock, or raw materials and finished materials or perform other general labor. Includes all manual laborers not elsewhere classified.
Job Responsibilities
Handles assignments in a repetitive and/or sequential order for completing tasks assignedKeeps work area cleanUses personal protection equipment at all times and follows all safety regulationsReport any unsafe conditions or defective equipment to the supervisor immediatelyMust attend weekly safety meetingsClean-up to keep of machinery and maintain the surrounding area keeping them free of debris up during downtimeCleans machines and conveyorsCleans floors and picks up reusable scrap for salvageTransport trash and debris away from production areasResponsible for keeping pallets neat and orderlyOperates machinery or equipment as trained and instructed following safety guidelines at all timesAssists lead operator in preparing for shift productionWork closely with the lead operator and become knowledgeable of the mechanics and operation machine in which you assistMay be required to work with conveyors, ramps, elevators, etc. as assignedMay be required to operate equipment such as hoppers, bagging and sealer machines, forklift, palletizers, hydraulic equipment, powered tractors or vehicles, among others. Internal certification/training is required for these tasksOperate a variety of hand toolsAssists in the loading/unloading of trucksAssists in completing shipping/receiving documentsPackages and labels products properlyHandle stockpilesVerify loads leaving the premisesMaintain, verify and count product inventoryOther duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as neededJob Requirements
Previous production experience preferredAbility to read and comprehend simple instructionsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsAbility to follow company production and safety proceduresAbility to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbersAble to pass internal certification trainingAbility to print and speak simple sentencesAbility to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide 10's and 100'sMust be able to demonstrate lock out tag out proceduresMust keep key lock with self at all timesMust attend weekly safety meetingsMust be comfortable working in any/all weather conditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hearThe employee will be required to sit for extended periods of timeThe employee may frequently stand on their feetThe employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from the ground level. The need to lift over 65lbs may arise from time to time - should this be the case, employees should engage in team lifting and/or use the provided equipment to safely liftThe employee must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and your whole body - bending, crouching, climbing - using steps and ladders, pushing pulling, stooping and reachingWhat CRH Offers You
