Windows System Engineer

Our Client, a public university company, is looking for a Windows System Engineer for their Ann Arbor, MI location.
Responsibilities:As a member of the HITS Windows Hosting Services Team, you will implement and manage over 3,300 Windows servers in both physical and virtual (VMWare) environments. We manage multiple strategic projects, including Cloud compute/migration, service offering for research compute, Clinical application support, automation/configuration management and orchestration strategies. You will report directly to the manager of the Windows Hosting Services Team.You will propose, design, develop and support the Windows clinical and research server environment to provide tiered service offerings for mission critical systems both on premises and in the cloud. Install and manage Windows server operating systems, and support software / services in both Windows and VMware infrastructure. Support server infrastructure including blade chassis, blade and rack servers, and the associated Management services. Develop scripts / tools necessary to extend the functionality and automate day-to-day management of the services.We are seeking an individual with extensive experience supporting Windows systems in a 24x7 enterprise on-premises and in the cloud, OS server deployment and automation, Security / Vulnerability resolution, and experience maintaining cloud platform infrastructures (IaaS and PaaS).
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience7+ years of experience in managing and supporting large environment with Windows Enterprise Servers in a complex, high availability, enterprise environmentExpert level knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2016,2019,2022)Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, deployment and managementExperience deploying, maintaining, and supporting high performance Windows systemsExperience managing Server Hardware Management softwareExperience in scripting with PowerShell or PowerCLIExperience with VMware virtual server environments and configuring systems for maximum performance and operating flexibilityExperience in HA clustered application/SQL environments from a server build and operations perspectiveExperience with SCCM and SCOM ManagementProven technical leader with solid operating system administration skills, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a dynamic, fast paced environmentExperience with networking technologies, particularly as they pertain to managing Windows systems and applications running on these systemStrong security awarenessExcellent Project management skills.Health Care industry experience strongly preferred.
