Role Overview: This role is seeking an enthusiastic, versatile Network Administrator who is passionate about providing exceptional customer service and delivering top tier IT Services to our internal customers. This individual will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, including network administration, virtualization, and Windows systems administration. The role also involves performing light AS/400 duties. The role requires the ability to effectively troubleshoot all aspects of the company network, hardware and software solutions. This individual will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive end-user support, ensuring that all employees have the technical resources and assistance they need to perform their jobs effectively. Role Responsibilities: Network Administration: Manage and configure FortiGate firewalls and network switches. Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal network functionality and security. Develop and maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration settings, and procedures. Virtualization Administration: Administer and maintain the company's virtualization environment using VMware ESX. Perform regular updates, patch management, and system backups for virtual servers. Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the virtual infrastructure to minimize downtime. Windows Systems Administration: Manage Active Directory domain services, including user account management and group policies. Administer application servers, file servers, and other Windows-based systems. AS/400 Administration: Perform light administration duties on the AS/400 system, including user account setup and basic troubleshooting. Work with specialized teams as necessary to resolve more complex AS/400 issues. Storage and Backup Administration: Install, configure and maintain SAN storage devices to act as shared storage for the ESX environment. Develop, implement, and manage data backup strategies to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data. Perform regular backups of all critical systems, including virtual servers, file servers, and databases. Monitor backup processes and perform regular tests to verify the recoverability of backed-up data. Ensure compliance with data retention policies and regulatory requirements for data protection. End-User Support: Provide first-line technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Assist users with day-to-day IT needs, including workstation setup, software installation, and peripheral troubleshooting. Document support requests and solutions in the ticketing system. Collaboration and Communication: Serve as the liaison between the company and the parent company's IT department. Collaborate with the parent company's IT team for escalations, projects, and shared initiatives. Ensure effective communication of IT policies, procedures, and updates to all stakeholders. IT Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard company assets. Monitor for security threats and vulnerabilities, taking appropriate actions to mitigate risks. Adhere to all overarching corporate compliance policies. Keep all hardware and software up to date with patches and support. Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems administration, with a focus on network, virtualization, and Windows systems. Strong knowledge of FortiGate firewalls, VMware ESX, and Windows Server environments. Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management. Basic knowledge of AS/400 system administration and troubleshooting. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and handle high-pressure situations. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, VCP, MCSA/MCSE, or similar are highly desirable. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with ITIL practices and experience working within a structured IT environment. Experience with cloud services and hybrid environments. Knowledge of IT security best practices and experience implementing security measures.
