Principal Health Data Architect at Oracle in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Description As a Health Data Architect at Oracle, your work will span the worlds of Software Engineering, Data Processing, Data Interpretation and Data Modeling. You will study the data formats used by our customers to share their health-related data. You will partner with multiple stakeholders across the company to interpret and map customer data to industry standard formats such as FHIR. You will work with Software Engineers to define how to efficiently on-board and process large volumes of data from disparate sources spanning a multitude of technology system vendors. You will use your knowledge of evolving customer requirements to help shape the software architecture of the Healthcare Data Analytics platform. As part of this team, you will accelerate several architectural efforts-achieve orders of magnitude data processing latency improvement, creating comprehensive patient health records that can scale to entire populations of nations, creating a health data lake at massive scale to enable a host of intelligent health services. The Health Data Analytics platform will have global reach, requiring engineering advancements to support varying data laws and regulations, data formats and content required by our customers. The Health Data Architect role is not a traditional software engineering role. We are looking for individuals who have experience working within software engineering, but also have strong experience working with healthcare data and system interoperability standards (HL7 FHIR, HL7 v2/v3, etc.). Knowledge of government rules, regulations and constraints affecting the healthcare environment is desirable. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience working on interfacing different healthcare systems, understanding of the evolving architecture of large scale health data infrastructures and data formats, knowledge of the ongoing projects in healthcare-focused standards bodies, and deep experience with the standard and non-standard data formats in common use in the larger healthcare industry. Career Level - IC4 Responsibilities Responsibilities + Work with the software engineering, product management and customer success organizations to develop technologies and strategies to efficiently onboard new customers to the Healthcare Data Analytics platform, and to onboard new data sources for existing customers. + Work with product management to define the data formats and processing performance characteristics of future data feature as needed by the Oracle Health products built on the platform. + Work with senior software engineers to conceptualize, design and implement tools to simplify and automate the interpretation of new data formats. Qualifications + At least 10 years of experience being part of a software organization developing healthcare products. + Extensive experience working with the healthcare data interop standards like HL7 FHIR, HL7v3 (CDA), HL7v2, OMOP, etc. + Extensive experience working with claims data from US payors like Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and commercial insurance (United, BCBS, Aetna, etc.). + An understanding of accountable care organizations (ACO) and other value-based care payment models occurring in healthcare today. + Proficient in SQL and other database querying languages for the purposes of data exploration. + Capable of understanding programming languages used in data processing (e.g. Java) for purpose of validating against defined processing requirements. + Demonstrated experience with the interoperability of different healthcare software systems. + Demonstrated experience with translating healthcare related customer requirements into concrete technical action plans and guiding the execution and delivery thereof. + Demonstrated experience with guiding the development of software to interpret and translate between healthcare formats. + Experience with communicating across multiple functions in healthcare organizations (Product Management, Customer Success, Executive Management, Engineering). + Bachelors degree in a healthcare-adjacent field. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
