The Neurological Clinical Research Institute (NCRI) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is one of thepreeminent global centers running and coordinating multi-center clinical research trials in Neurology focused ondeveloping cures and improving treatment of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinsons Disease,Huntingtons Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and other neurological diseases. NCRIs mission is to acceleratetranslational research in neurological disorders through initiating and testing novel therapies by custom-designingresearch protocols, by bringing efficacy strategies and infrastructure to clinical research and implementingobservational and interventional clinical trials. To empower the NCRI on its mission, and to capture and manageinformation from clinical research, the Center for Innovation and Bioinformatics of the NCRI develops, maintainsand deploys several software platforms and programs. Working independently under minimal supervision of theDirector of the Center for Innovation and Bioinformatics, the Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist will:? Be responsible for validation and quality assurance of the software platforms supported by the Systemsteam? Develop test cases/scripts based on defined business/functional specifications and/or user cases? Introduce automated testing utilizing Selenium, or a similarly automated testing platform? Plan and execute test strategy, test plans, test scripts, and test data for software platforms? Identify and advocate for QA testing standards and best practices? Assist during systems internal or sponsor-initiated auditsThe NCRI is looking for a motivated team player who can lead and provide high-quality services whileworking on multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent technical writing and communication skills, as well asthe ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize tasks as required.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:? General Duties:- Develop test cases/scripts based on defined business/functional specifications and/or user cases- Introduce automated testing utilizing Selenium, or a similar platform for core and individualprojects- Plan, estimate, create, and execute test strategy, test plans, test scripts, and test data for softwareplatforms supported by the Systems team- Perform system analysis of software applications to determine software quality assurance testplans- Execute test cases/scripts as well as accurately and concisely report on progress anddeviations/failures- Solicit improvement and new feature requests from internal and external clients- Lead validation processes for new releases of the systems- Document and establish best practices in system utilization for the NCRI and department- Be responsible for establishing and maintaining libraries of generic and disease-specific casereport forms with proof of validation documentation- Support internal or sponsor-initiated audits.? Supervisory duties:- Coordinate personnel and efforts allocated to specific projects (priorities, schedules and tasks);- Develop and implement training programs for Systems personnel;- Oversee system support and track user-reported issues for the systems.? Accepts responsibilities for special projects as requested.Qualifications:A minimum of a bachelors degree is required with three to five years working experience.- Additional training or certificate in Quality Assurance is highly desirable- Previous experience with clinical trials, electronic data capture systems and an understanding of trial designis highly desirable- Working knowledge of Selenium platform is highly desirable- Experience data management, and federal regulations compliance is preferred.- Knowledge of mathematics and algorithms applicable for QA is a plus.
