The Self-Driving Hardware team is looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to join the team in Palo Alto, CA. Firmware Engineers are expected to develop, test, and document firmware for the Self-Driving system.The successful applicant will join a team of deeply knowledgeable Engineers and have an opportunity to solve ambitious and challenging problems in the embedded and server infrastructure software space. The applicant will work closely with hardware teams and have opportunities to engage in real hardware and software co-design tradeoffs of complex server systems.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality C code in a real-time embedded environmentSpecify, design, and implement functionality and behaviors of embedded subsystemsDesign the software architecture and firmware implementation on hardware through integration, test and high-volume manufacturingHands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging and code optimizationMake performance and optimization trade-offs to meet product requirementsRequirements
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience3+ years of experience in embedded development in robotics, real-time controls, or system softwareProficiency in C, C++, and PythonFluent with silicon system firmware concepts including core and memory management, RTOS, interrupts and ISR, self-checking code, protocol buffers, low-speed communication protocols, AXI and APB busFluent in software fundamentals including software design and maintainabilityControls software and algorithm developmentTest driven development and familiarity with developer driven automated testingAbility to collaborate and communicate complex technical conceptsDevelopment experience with safet and embedded oriented languages such as Rust or Spark ADAExperience with STM32 microcontroller integrated circuits and embedded microprocessor toolsCompensation and BenefitsBenefits

$120,000 - $210,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
