Inalab has an immediate opening for the position of Network/Hardware Support Technician.
Work on systems that are complex to plan, configure, and implement. The candidate will participate in the monitoring, maintenance, and upgrade of network systems to meet the needs of the GHSC as well as documentation of these systems. The candidate will provide specialized support and system administration in all facets of the networking and firewall infrastructure and data center management. The candidate will participate in all phases of planning, system design, prototyping, development, testing, documentation, and software maintenance. The candidate will utilize agile approaches, to ensure consistency with the larger GHSC infrastructure and external community requirements.
Role and Responsibilities:
Provide first and second level technical (Tier 1&2) support to users concerning network system operations.Provide remote and on-site response for organization network infrastructure, during- and after-hours.Work with end-users to identify and resolve network-specific issues dealing with DNS, network connectivity, internal and external routing etc.Install, configure, and maintain network cabling and other networking equipment.Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network connected end-user hardware and software.Diagnose problems with network equipment and performs equipment repair or upgrades when appropriate.Tracking tickets are entered, responded to, and/or closed as appropriate.Configure, manage, and optimize network devices and system interconnectivity.Set up monitoring systems for network devices to ensure high availability.Utilizes tools for monitoring, troubleshooting and threshold.Provide documentation related to network devices.Perform network design and capacity planning.Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.Install and maintain network servers and network operating systems.Schedule and monitor backup of network data. Periodically restore files, applications, and the entire system on other network hardware to test backup facilities.Install, maintain and troubleshoot operation and connectivity of Audio-Visual equipment residing on the network.Work with information systems security officer to establish and enforce policies, procedures, and standards regarding LAN, WAN, security, and use of the organization's computer and information assets.Tracking tickets are entered, responded to, and/or closed as appropriate.Configure, manage, and optimize on-prem and remote firewalls.
Set up monitoring systems for Firewalls to ensure high availability.Diagnoses problems with firewall throughput and recommends corrective action.Recommends industry best practices for firewall maintenance and operation.Provides documentation related to Firewall troubleshooting maintenance and operation.Tracking tickets are entered, responded to, and/or closed as appropriate.Provide recommendations and implementation assistance for monitoring data center network.
Ensuring that industry best practices are used.Data Center network device power backup configuration, operation, and environmental monitoring.Tracking tickets are entered, responded to, and/or closed as appropriate.Assists with other projects as assigned/needed by the organization.Verbally report on progress during weekly stand-ups.At the conclusion of each task, the contractor shall demonstrate that the changes implemented work properly without detrimental impact on GHSC operations.Provide detailed documentation or update existing documentation regarding all aspects of the tasks.About Inalab Consulting, Inc.
