Position Summary:

As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Westmark Credit Union, you will play a key role in guiding our members through the mortgage loan process. You'll leverage your expertise to assess financial data, provide advice, and deliver tailored solutions to help members achieve their homeownership goals. With a focus on outstanding service, you will represent Westmark as a trusted resource in the real estate community, ensuring compliance with all underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Member Engagement:

Conduct interviews with loan applicants, review financial data, and collect necessary documentation to process real estate loan applications efficiently.Loan Processing:

Coordinate the submission of applications to the Department Underwriter for final approval, ensuring adherence to FNMA underwriting standards and all regulatory requirements.Member & Realtor Support:

Provide timely updates to members and real estate agents throughout the loan application process, maintaining clear communication.Compliance:

Ensure all loans meet Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, and IHFA guidelines and standards, while maintaining thorough documentation.Marketing & Relationship Building:

Actively engage with local realtors through marketing presentations and maintain established relationships to support Westmark's market presence.Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with the Real Estate team as well as branch employees and other staff members to encourage referrals and provide the best member experience.Requirements

Qualifications:

Strong Knowledge of mortgage lending practices, underwriting standards, and FNMA guidelines.Proficiency with loan processing software (such as Point) and financial calculators (such as HP-12C)Ability to review and analyze complex financial documents, including federal tax returns.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with realtors and members.Key Competencies:

Ability to sit, stand, and move within the office environment for extended periods of time.Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to use a computer, phone, and other office equipment.Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, in-person, over the phone, and electronically.Occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.Must be able to read documents and view a computer screen for extended periods. Must be able to hear conversations clearly in person and over the phone.Occasional travel to real estate offices, community events, or member meetings may be required.
