A technically skilled individual with a background in construction, manufacturing, or a related fieldHands-on experience working with mechanical or electrical systems in a lab, workshop, or industrial environmentKnowledgeable in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical operationsExcited about working in a research-focused environment and supporting cutting-edge 3D concrete printing projectsDetail-oriented, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a teamStrong communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervisionEnthusiastic about learning and contributing to the advancement of sustainable technologiesWhat You Will Do:As an R&D Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting the research and development of Sperras 3D concrete printing technologies. You will work closely with the R&D team, assisting with equipment setup, operation, and maintenance at our Bergen, NY facility. You will also contribute to the development of new printing methods and assist in data collection and analysis.
Primary responsibilities:
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot 3D concrete printing system and other mechanical equipmentAssist in setting up experiments, including material preparation and equipment calibrationCarry out hands-on fabrication and assembly of manufacturing equipment and prototypesMonitor and record data during tests and experimentsPerform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as neededEnsure that all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and protocolsAssist with inventory management, material sourcing, and procurement of suppliesContribute to project documentation and reportingOther duties as assignedQualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Associate degree or technical certification in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field)1-2 years of hands-on experience in an industrial, lab, or manufacturing settingFamiliarity with 3D printing, CNC machining, or other additive manufacturing processesExperience with mechanical tools and equipment (e.g., power tools, machine shop tools)Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skillsAbility to follow technical instructions and work independently when requiredExcellent teamwork and communication skillsPreferred:
Experience with concrete or construction materialsFamiliarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)Knowledge of mechanical testing equipment and proceduresWhat You Will Get:
