This role supports the Sr. Operations Procurement Manager as a Sourcing point of contact for the business within an assigned geography, covering all categories, including implementation of the sourcing strategy for local/sub-regional spend to achieve recurrent TCO (total cost of ownership) improvement and ongoing value creation, while managing quality and service level for the given geography. Additional duties include establishing close working relationships with local/sub-regional internal stakeholders (manufacturing, technical, controlling, management...) to understand business needs and deliver adequate sourcing performance, support and collaboration with (Global and/or Regional) Category Managers for corresponding categories, support of the Sr. Operational Procurement Manager to manage a portfolio of sourcing initiatives (with a high spend in scope), development of relationships with suppliers in the geography, and management of a portfolio of larger sourcing initiatives (with a high send in scope).RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:Establishes partnership with local/sub-regional stakeholders and drive alignment with local management on the sourcing strategy and implementation of a multi-year plan optimizing TCO year-over-year.Supports high value / complex spot buys for the geography and consults the Category managers for the relevant categories when applicable.Supports and collaborates with (Global and / or Regional) Category manager by providing input on local requirements for the regional and global category sourcing initiatives.Assists in Sourcing initiatives for local category purchases:
Set up and lead cross-functional teamsOrganize supplier selection, identification and qualification of alternative suppliersIdentify TCO reduction and value creation opportunitiesIdentify cost savings while maintaining/improving quality and service level of suppliersDrive negotiation, lead contract implementation
Track / Measure performance according to Group Procurement guidelinesSupports the Procure to Pay process through alignment of buying channelsManages / Evaluates contract compliance, data management and supplier performance and takes necessary corrective actions for spend under his responsibilityOptimizes supplier base to build a manageable pool of preferred suppliers. Develops and manage long term relationship with key suppliers of given scopeEnsures discipline / compliance to the agreed strategies, plans and processesEnsures smooth collaboration specifically with Category Managers, Spot buyers and AnalystsBack-up of the Sr. Operations Procurement Manager to represent Local Procurement in different governance bodiesNote: Sourcing specialist supports (Sr. Operations Procurement Manager) for their geography.Perform other duties as assignedATTRIBUTES:Results oriented self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlinesMust be capable of working any shift, on-call, overtime, or seven days a week, if needed by the business.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines.Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levels.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong presentation and public speaking skills.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines.Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs.Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint software. Adept in an ERP environment and related reporting/data warehouse, preferably SAP/BW, to drive integrated planning solutions.PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Must be physically able to perform work assigned.Must be physically capable of accessing all plant/site locations.Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 200 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.Will be working in an office environment, mining, and mineral processing environment.The employee may be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.Able to lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to travel up to 50% as needed or directed by leadershipREQUIRED EDUCATION:High School Diploma or GED required. BS degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or technical related field or equivalent work experience in the field is desired.PREFERRED EDUCATION:BS Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
