Overview

The Superintendent serves as the senior management representative in the field and to the owner. Superintendents oversee daily construction activities on the job site and are responsible for the overall progress of the project, as well as the scheduling of workers and delivery of equipment and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Lead direct reports and superintendents working jobsite campus
  • Preconstruction preparation of the jobsite (office/office trailer, posters, first aid kit, fire extinguishers...etc.)
  • Effectively conduct and manage meetings
  • Enforce and maintain Project Specific Safety Plans
  • Conduct required site safety meetings
  • Maintain currency in First Aid, CPR, and OSHA Certification
  • Maintain Company tools and equipment, along with any rented equipment
  • Counsel all field tradesmen in Quality Awareness
  • Oversee, monitor, and orchestrate all day-to-day field activities
  • Act as the day-to-day liaison between Valiant and the Owner's representative
  • Ensure the project runs on schedule daily by comparing project progress to the project schedule. Alert the Project Manager of any deviation from the schedule
  • Schedule all material deliveries, labor activities, and subcontractors in advance by utilizing the project schedule
  • Manage expense reports
  • Prepare owner-required advance notifications (i.e., penetration permits, utility outages, hot work, etc.)
  • Assist Project Manager with Change Proposals
  • Review monthly projected cost reports with the Project Manager
  • Maintain an accurate set of red-lined, as-built plans and specs
  • Prepare, distribute, and track the completion of the pre-substantial completion Punch List
  • Complete accurate, timely daily reports of each day of the project and distribute to the owner and company server
  • Work with Project Manager to ensure accurate certified payrolls, daily field reports, and employee timesheets

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years construction-related experience
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, or sit
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to talk/listen
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds
