The positions also evaluates, locates and recommends equipment to be purchased for new medical facilities, major renovations and expansions of existing medical facilities; facilitates meetings with medical personnel to establish appropriate placement and use of medical equipment and assists the customer with the selection of medical equipment and related systems.Principal Responsibilities and TasksThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed.Research emerging technology trends and develops relationships with vendors to remain current with latest technologies. Understands the architectural design process through all phases – programming, schematic design, design development, construction document development, procurement, construction administration and field coordination, installation and logistics. Evaluate, locate and recommend equipment to be purchased for new medical facilities, major renovations and expansion of existing medical facilities. Evaluate existing medical equipment and related systems with respect to age, condition and technological status to determine the potential for reuse. Facilitate or Lead user group meetings to determine and verify medical equipment needs. Develop and coordinates all related deliverables to include but not limited to medical equipment reports and drawings, specification documents, vendor site specific drawings and project schedules. Collaborate with design consultants, engineers and contractors to review project documents, identify and note design/equipment conflicts, and lead teams to final reconciliation of drawings and equipment specifications. Work with Capital Development and Construction teams to coordinate the development of equipment placement drawings in Revit and or AutoCAD. Facilitate equipment procurement activities, including developing a procurement schedule, soliciting and analyzing vendor quotes, issuing bids, making recommendations, reviewing requisitions, inputting purchase orders, and other activities that may be contracted as part of procurement assistance services Observes construction progress, prepares field observation reports, and participates in inspections, punch lists and project closeouts. Conducts post-occupancy evaluation and reviews use of space and equipment. Facilitate delivery and installation activities, including coordinating the move schedule with vendors, warehouse management, developing and maintaining the equipment delivery schedule, turnover of manuals, and other activities that may be contracted as part of delivery and installation activities. Effectively communicate equipment planning information to the project team to allow for successful project completion Manage and participate on multiple healthcare projects simultaneously. Performs other duties as requested by management.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in biomedical equipment technology biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, nursing, healthcare, or other related field or equivalent education/experience. Equivalent experience can substitute for degree requirement. 8-10 years of experience with medical equipment, experience in medical or technical equipment operations and maintenance management; management of a hospital clinical engineering program, plan drawings and working with architects, consultants and contractors to coordinate medical equipment installations.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExperience with Attainia medical equipment planning software preferred. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit design criteria and industry database concepts. Experience with Bluebeam Studio preferred. Ability to read and interpret architectural programming, design, scheduling and specification documentation. Knowledge of clinical workflow and equipment placement in relation to architectural spaces. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Project, and Visio. Exceptional written, verbal and graphic communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to simultaneously prioritize and manage work requests and activities. Demonstrated desire to find the most efficient and effective method of performing activities. Demonstrated ability to introduce and adapt to new and/or changed procedures and processes and related knowledge transfer sharing with other staff. Demonstrated ability deliver exceptional customer service. Demonstrated experience with data analysis, modeling and reporting tools. Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
