Join us for a rewarding career in the aviation industry!BECOME A RAMP SUPERVISOR!Our Ramp Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of ramp agents and ensuring the efficient, safe handling of aircraft on the ground. This position involves coordinating activities such as baggage handling, aircraft towing, and servicing aircraft, while adhering to strict safety and operational protocols. You will be pivotal in training and mentoring team members and coordinating with flight crews and other airport personnel to ensure timely aircraft turnarounds. Additionally, this role requires quick decision-making, effective problem-solving, and maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A RAMP SUPERVISORSupervise the ramp team operations, including aircraft loading and unloadingCoordinate ramp activities to ensure timely turnaround of flightsTrain and mentor ramp team members on operational procedures and safety protocolsMonitor team compliance with airline and airport regulationsConduct pre-shift briefings to discuss daily tasks and safety focus pointsOversee the proper handling of baggage, cargo, and mail to prevent damage or lossManage communication between the ramp team, flight crew, and ground operationsEnsure proper use and maintenance of ground support equipmentImplement and enforce safety measures and hazard prevention on the rampRespond to and manage operational issues and emergenciesFacilitate efficient teamwork to meet flight schedules and service standardsConduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to ramp team membersEnsure compliance with all DOT regulations as required and guidelines, including overseeing the safe and legal operation of airport vehicles, equipment, and personnel involved in airside and landside operationsConduct regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to DOT standards, including reviewing maintenance records, driver qualifications, and safety procedures, and provide training and updates to staff on changes in DOT regulations as requiredLiaise with other airport departments for coordinated operationsMaintain accurate records of ramp operations and incidentsPromote a culture of safety and professionalism within the teamMay be assigned other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS18 years of age or olderEligible to work in the United StatesMinimum of 2 years of experience in ramp operations or a related aviation fieldProven experience in a supervisory or leadership roleStrong knowledge of ramp safety and operational proceduresMust have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documentsAbility to use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile DevicesEffectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic meansPass a background check and drug screento acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
