Job Title: Travel Nurse - PCUJob Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)Job Duration: 13 weeksShift: 12-hour varied shiftsGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekExperience: Minimum 2 years in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit; previous completion of at least one 13-week travel assignmentLicense: Active New Mexico or compact nursing licenseCertifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (must be from accredited organizations such as American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)Must-Have:- EPIC EMR experience preferred- BCA testing pass required during the first week of assignment- Team player attitude and adaptable to a fast-paced environment- Flexibility to float to various units including med/surg, ICU, and ED- Ability to cover on-call, weekends, and holidays as required- Own required scrubs (white scrub top; sangria red, plum purple, hunter green, or black scrub pants)Job Description:- Adhere to a 75-mile straight line/radius rule for travel- Submission must include references, a resume, and a skills checklist/competency assessment- Comply with no time off requests after the acceptance date- Be the first to float within the facility and to alternate locations within a 20-mile radius- Participate in a comprehensive orientation in the first week, covering no more than 40 hours and including EPIC training- Provide care for telemetry patients boarding in ICU and admitted inpatients holding for bed or offering assistance within the ED- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4, which may increase to 1:5/6 based on patient acuity and needs- Follow guidelines for holiday time off, ensuring none is taken during assignments- Ensure accurate SSN and DOB entry to avoid onboarding issuesNote: Applicants should not have been an employee of the healthcare system for 12 months from the last day worked to be eligible for this travel position. Scrubs are required but not provided by the facility.
