Nationally recognized litigation law firm seeks an associate attorney to join their recognized team concentrating on complex civil matters. The firm's expertise is diverse but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, general liability, and related commercial litigation. Associates work closely with senior attorneys and clients on challenging work in an entrepreneurial and collegial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Handle local and national accounts throughout the state of California
- Independently manage a litigation caseload
- Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial
- Prepare and respond to discovery responses and pleadings
- Prepare court filings and e-filing
- Trial preparation and support
- 2+ years of experience in any of the following practice areas: complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Must be admitted to practice in the state of California
- Experience with motion practice and depositions
- Experience taking lead in plaintiff and expert depositions
- Works well both independently and in a team-setting
- Superior research, writing, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and analyze complex matters
- Well-established national law firm
