Job Description
As a Manager of Learning & Development, you will help drive the development, implementation, training and program facilitation of innovative, creative, high-impact learning and talent management solutions to drive employee and business performance across Hearst's businesses. The Learning & Development team at Hearst is responsible for nurturing the skills, knowledge, and professional growth of employees throughout the organization. The primary focus is on designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs and initiatives that support employees across Hearst businesses to deliver on business objectives. This team collaborates closely with the various Hearst divisions to identify skill gaps, training requirements, and emerging learning trends. Current programs include leadership development curricula, a formal mentorship program, a professional development navigation tool, and live training sessions. You will be a member of the Corporate L&D team within the People Function, reporting directly to the VP of Learning & Development, collaborating closely with other L&D team members, HR Business Partners across Hearst's businesses, and People Function team members in People Analytics and LMS management.

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $120,000-$140,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education. Responsibilities
- Collaborates closely with HR Business Partners, learners, business and Corporate stakeholders, to identify learning needs across all of Hearst's businesses and co-create solutions for employees.
- Contributes to the development of training programs, materials, and job aids designed to meet identified learning needs, including live programs, curated self-guided content, and performance support tools.
- Drives development, delivery, and program administration of various training and development programs, both independently and in concert with vendors.
- Facilitates both in-person and virtual training to a global audience.
- Tracks learning enrollment, participation, feedback, and outcomes, using Oracle LMS, Survey Monkey, and other platforms.
- Analyzes and evaluates program metrics, ensuring training effectiveness and return on investment (ROI).
- Manages vendor relationships for learning and development courses, workshops, coaching, etc.
- Researches and keeps informed on L&D best practices and the evolving workplace.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience (Learning & Development, Talent Management, Change Management and Project Management)
- Proven track record of developing and implementing learning and development content.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust-based collaborative partnerships across diverse populations and stakeholders.
- Fluency with data processing and management, online development tools, and platforms, and the ability to quickly learn new technology/software.
- Proactive and creative in identifying issues and new opportunities.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills, coupled with adaptability and resourcefulness to overcome ambiguity and barriers.
- Clear and persuasive communicator.
