Job Overview

As a Tax Manager, you would be applying your knowledge and industry experience to all phases of a client engagement including, but not limited to, assisting and developing staff, performing technical research, reviewing returns, and communicating with the client throughout the engagement process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review tax return and ensure compliance with professional standards
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and ensure the highest level of client service is achieved
  • Provide overall leadership, supervision, training, and performance feedback to staff
  • Effectively delegate work to staff according to their experience and capabilities
  • Develop business by expanding existing relationship with clients, maintaining personal networks, and participating in civic, charitable, and professional organizations


Qualifications

Education/Licensing

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or other relevant field, from an accredited university required
  • Master's Degree in Tax or Accounting preferred
  • CPA certification required
  • Other professional certifications desired


Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 5+ years of public accounting experience in a tax environment, with a concentrated focus on complicated returns involving individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts and tax-exempt entities. This includes multi-state taxation among all entity types.
  • Thorough knowledge of the tax process, including strong research skills
  • Experience in staff leadership and development
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, ability to think critically and make decisions
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Client service mentality
  • Teamwork oriented with a willingness to grow, a passion for living, and desire to go above and beyond


Software

  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Knowledge of accounting and tax software is required, UltraTax and GoFileRoom preferred
