PATHOLOGIST ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR- Temple University Hospital

The Supervisor Pathologist Assistant oversees operations in critical areas of the anatomic pathology including specimen receipt, gross room, autopsy, and biobanking activities. Oversees and participates in all aspects of the work including frozen sections, grossing, autopsies and leads teaching of pathology residents and students (e.g. pathologist assistants, medical school). Leads and participates in quality improvement projects, maintains QC and QA data, and ensures accreditation readiness (e.g. CAP, TJC). They assist residents and pathologist in processing, dissection and description of gross anatomic findings of submitted specimens in accordance with established procedures.
Education
Bachelors Degree: Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Life Sciences with 26 science credits with appropriate experience in a CLIA laboratory. (Required)
Masters Degree: Successful completion of NAACLS accredited pathologist assistant program (Preferred)
Experience
2 Years experience as a certified pathologist assistant or 4 Years experience working as a non-certified pathologist assistant working in a cancer center laboratory, high volume private practice/community hospital or academic medical center (Required)
1 Year experience in a lead or supervisory role (Preferred)
License/Certifications
ASCP - Amer Soc Clinical Pathology (Preferred)
