About GameStop:GameStop is a global, omnichannel video game retailer, committed to delivering innovative entertainment products and services. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a strategic and experienced Director of Tax to lead our North American tax operations.
This position will sit onsite in Grapevine, TX.
Position Overview:The Director of Tax will oversee all aspects of GameStop's tax strategy, planning, and compliance for North America. This role will manage the tax team responsible for direct and indirect tax functions. The Director of Tax will collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategies that maximize profitability and minimize risk, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax regulations.
Manage and review corporate consolidated federal, international and multi-state and local income tax compliance, including estimated and extensions income tax paymentsReview international income tax returns and corresponding workpapers, including Forms 5471, 8858, 1118, Subpart F, GILTI, PTEP accounts, and foreign tax credit calculationsManage and review the preparation of foreign bank account reporting ("FBAR") on FinCEN Form 114Manage and supervise the outsourced indirect compliance tax functions, such as sales tax, property tax, unclaimed property, Canadian GST/HST and value added tax ("VAT")Assist in the development and implementation of tax efficient cash repatriation strategiesCoordinate and review global transfer pricing documentation including annual requirements, master file, local files, country by country reporting, and analysis of new transactionsAssist with the correspondence and management of foreign tax audits and the international tax aspects of US federal and state tax auditsPrepare and review correspondence relating to various tax issues including Sales Tax audits, Canadian Province audits, County Appraisal jurisdictions, State Unclaimed Property departments and other miscellaneous tax notices.Assist with managing jurisdictional audits; including direct interaction with auditors and providing guidance to department staff.Analyze income and sales tax reserves, including related interest and penalties, at least quarterly.
