CNC Machinist - PM Weekend Crew
Weekend Crew - Friday/Saturday/Sunday
Advance Turning & Manufacturing, Inc., global leader in manufacturing machined components for Medical, Aerospace and Space Exploration, is in search of experienced CNC Machinists for our Weekend Crew at our 4005 Morrill Road facility.
Day shift
6:00 am until 6:00 pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday plus $1.00 shift premium
Night shift
6:00 pm until 6:00 am Friday, Saturday & Sunday plus $2.00 shift premium
Work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours with OT available during the week if interested.

Position Requirements
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards.Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and nine to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
There are no supervisory duties associated with this position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, bend or crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving equipment. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area where under certain conditions may require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields. Employee may be exposed to shop elements such as oil, dust, odors, fumes, and noise. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
