Job Summary
The DevOps Solutions Architect is a strategic member of our IT Department, specializing in Azure. This role involves understanding the solutions and capabilities within a large enterprise environment, focusing on automating and optimizing our operations. The DevOps Solutions Architect is a consultative partner to internal stakeholders, aligning their goals with e@icient DevOps practices to enhance productivity and communication. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement DevOps solutions. Expertise in Azure and a deep understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes are crucial.
This position must report to the SHI Austin, TX, or SHI Somerset, NJ, office location as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities Include, but not limited to:
Demonstrate leadership to ensure that DevOps solutions align with business
objectives
Engage with multiple layers of contacts within the organization to gain insights into
the environment
Analyze current DevOps processes and make recommendations for improvement
based on industry trends and professional knowledge
Develop cross-functional DevOps strategies and solutions
Translate business and technical objectives into prioritized, phased DevOps implementations
Oversee and facilitate the evaluation and selection of DevOps tools and technologies.
Provide technology/architecture recommendations based on business relevance, appropriate timing, and deployment
Drive the adoption of modern DevOps practices and retire legacy methodologies
Contribute to the design of operational processes, ensuring e@iciency, scalability, and compliance with policies and security requirements
Stay current with new DevOps technologies and frameworks and recommend adopting new partners or solution components
Build current and future state DevOps architecture diagrams and views
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or relevant work experience is required
10+ years of experience in solutions architecture or software engineering
5+ years of experience with DevOps practices and modernization
Required Skills
Core Development Skills: Linux, Jenkins, Git, GitHub and Actions, Shell Scripting, Terraform, Ansible, Jira
Expertise in Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline creation and management
Implemented large-scale infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or
Azure Resource Manager
Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes on Azure
Strong understanding of Azure services and cloud infrastructure
Proficiency in automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or
Puppet
Ability to analyze requirements, recommend technical solutions and write technical
specifications
Ability to e@iciently work with executives and internal stakeholders
Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
Project management and leadership skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Ability to translate goals and strategies into DevOps solutions
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Integration of DevOps processes with cloud services, SaaS, and PaaS components
Hands-on experience with configuration management tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with iterative and test-driven development practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Strong understanding of Agile practices, including Scrum
Unique Requirements Travel as needed based on business needs and determined by SHI management.
Additional Information
The estimated annual pay range for this position is $100,000 - $200,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual
