What we need
We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join Symbotic's team within our Finance organization. You will be responsible for overseeing key aspects of the monthly, quarterly and annual close process, the review and maintenance of the general ledger, the preparation, review and/or approval of journal entries, the completion of balance sheet account reconciliations, the preparation of financial statements, and assisting with financial audits as needed.
In addition, you are able to easily adapt to an agile, constantly changing work environment in the performance of assigned tasks and special projects in a rapidly growing technology company.
What we do
The Accounting team is part of the Finance organization which is a critical financial business partner for the Company. Finance functions include General Accounting, Accounts Payable & Receivable, Internal Audit, FP&A. Our Finance team is a trusted source for financial information and guidance for our internal customers, partners, customers, suppliers, regulators, and stakeholders.
What you'll doPrepare or review/approve weekly and monthly journal entries including, but not limited to, cash, T&E, fixed assets, sales/use tax, balance sheet reclassifications, and adjustments to the income statementPrepare periodic operations billing as neededMaintain straight-line revenue schedulesMaintain a list of in-process fixed assets (CIP) and check-in with project owners periodically for updates on the statusPrepare and review SOX control activitiesAssist in providing support for tax, audit, and examination processes, including audited financial statementsAnalyze general ledger to uncover root causes of problemsFacilitate the completion of internal and external reporting requirementsEnsure proper application of US GAAP and industry reporting requirementsWrite-up and implement processes and proceduresIdentify alternative solutions and implement resolutions efficiently and effectivelyWhat you'll need
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred; graduate degree is a plusMinimum of five years' experience in the general accounting functionExperienced in the use of integrated ERP software; SAP experience is preferredDemonstrates an interest in learning inner workings of accounting process and systemsAdvanced Microsoft Excel user, proficient with functions, pivot tables and data analysisExcellent oral and written communicationAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHigh level of attention to detail required in managing analytical tasksStrong organizational skills and time management skillsAbility to work collaboratively with all departmentsHybrid schedule (minimum 2-3 days per week based in Wilmington, MA office)Our Environment
Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
