Provides complex technical nursing care for assigned patients under the supervision of the RN Ambulatory Care Supervisor or providers. Also serves as the administrative lead under the supervision of the Ambulatory Care Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Current West Virginia Nursing License.

2. Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Three (3) years clinical experience.

1. BSN.

EXPERIENCE:

1. One (1) year of experience in a medical office setting.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Adheres to all UPC/WVUH-E and the individual practice policies, procedures and regulations, including attendance, confidentiality and compliance.

2. Admits patients to the practice and demonstrates technical competences in the practice including but not limited to taking and recording of vitals, and assisting medical care providers as needed in the clinical area.

3. Screen patients to determine the need for medical attention.

4. Takes patient history.

5. Assists the medical care providers in developing an appropriate Plan of Care for patients.

6. Maintain professional expertise in nursing to best meet the medical needs of the patient.

7. Utilizes multi-disciplinary resources in response to patient/family's needs, including patient/family education.

8. Organizes tasks consistent with patient care needs.

9. Demonstrates high standards in customer service and teamwork.

10. Performs other duties as assigned, requested or volunteered for that measurably assist in enhancing the role, position, viability, or recognition of the practice and staff.

11. Facilitating collaborative care for patients.

12. Providing mentoring to nursing staff.

13. Coordinating direct care activities among nursing staff and the front office staff.

14. Ensuring the proper staffing of front office and nursing staff for the medical practice associated with the urgent care facility.

15. Contribute to staff reviews and evaluations.

16. Follows hospital, state and federal guidelines of ensuring safe environment for workers, patients and public. Ensures compliance by staff to hospital, governmental and insurance regulations.

17. Communicates and interacts with clients, families, visitors, physicians, departmental and hospital staff and the public in general in a manner that demonstrates professionalism and concern for the individuals' needs(s).

18. Participates in the processes to assess and improve the service provided and compliance with regulatory requirements. Reports results assessment and improvement processes to the appropriate administrative levels.

19. Willingly accepts assignments within scope of practice, skill set and level of competence.
