Position Purpose and Objectives

The Mortgage Servicing Representative provides financial services of superior quality and convenience through servicing residential mortgage loans and full suite of equity products (home equity, home equity lines of credit, home improvement). This role involves handling inquiries related to mortgage accounts, processing payments, managing escrow accounts, processing lien releases, curing delinquent taxes and/or lapsed insurance coverage. All functions to be performed in compliance with federal and state regulations. The Mortgage Servicing Rep serves as key point of contact for members, providing accurate and timely information regarding their mortgage loans, and assisting with any issues or questions arise.

Major Duties and Essential FunctionsRespond promptly and professionally to member inquiries regarding mortgage accounts, including payment issues, account status, escrow analysis, and general account maintenance.Accurately process mortgage payments, ensuring they are posted correctly to member accounts.Manage and monitor escrow accounts, including property taxes, insurance premiums, and other related disbursements. Conduct annual escrow analysis and communicate any changes to members.Ensure all mortgage servicing activities comply with federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records and documentation.Process requests for mortgage loan payoffs, provide accurate payoff statements, and ensure timely disbursement of funds.Process release of liens upon notification of account is paid off, while complying with federal and state regulations timelines.Monitor delinquent accounts and assist in the resolution of late payments by contacting members and providing options for bringing accounts current.Prepare and maintain reports daily, weekly, and monthly, related to mortgage servicing activities, including payment histories, delinquency reports, and escrow account summaries.Work closely with other departments, including Loan Processing, Member Services, and Collections to ensure seamless service delivery and resolve member issues.Participate in training and development opportunities to stay updated on mortgage industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in mortgage servicing.Establishes and maintains records on third party data systems utilized in monitoring tax records, insurance records, etc.Support cross-departmental efforts by taking on additional tasks as required, including document verification, quality control checks, and data entry for the underwriting and processing teams.Performs other duties as assigned.Positions directly supervised

Requirements

Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:

Good working knowledge and proficient understanding of Texas Real Estate lending and associated requirements (all products).Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain member information.Proficient in Texas Mortgage/Home Equity onboarding and loan servicing.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Ability to thrive in a team and ever-changing high production loan environmentGood computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office productsExcellent time management skills with the ability work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Fundamental understanding of FISERV Velocity and OSI/DNA systemsBasic/Core knowledge of CFPB-Dodd/Frank Ability to Repayment requirements and TRID regulatory parameters.

Education

:

Associate's degree. In-lieu of degree, minimum of 2 years' prior experience in mortgage servicing industry is required.

Minimum of 2 years of working experience in mortgage servicing, loan processing, or related financial service role, preferably within a credit union or similar financial institution
