Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for performing the supportability analysis of electronic and electromechanical assemblies associated with the New Fare Payment System (NFPS). The selected candidate will review, comment and report on documents, schematics and drawings; attend vendor design reviews; and participate in the acceptance testing of first article NFPS hardware and software.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to; the review, development and execution of test plans; problem resolution; execution and validation of fault insertion demonstrations; performance monitoring and software configuration compliance; assisting in the testing and debugging of hardware and embedded software within vendor supplied test equipment during the acceptance process and preparation of documentation for management of personnel and test procedure development. Using physical operating specifications and test parameters of circuit boards and higher order modules, test program software shall be written and integrated on a functional test platform to allow for functional testing and troubleshooting of electronic boards or modules.

Additional responsibilities will also include the development of test procedures and test programs to be hosted on various in-house automatic test equipment platforms in support of the NFPS equipment; full life cycle project management; hands-on installation, upgrade and testing of various bench test equipment platforms; liaise with various support and material vendors, in-house maintenance groups and user departments and provide technical support and knowledge transfer (as required) to shop staff.

Education and Experience:

COMPUTER ASSOCIATE I-III (SOFTWARE)

1. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related computer field and one year of satisfactory, full-time computer software experience in computer systems development and analysis, applications programming, database administration, maintenance and support, systems programming, data communications, mainframe development, mobile development, and/or web development and design, or

2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory, full-time computer software experience as described in "1" above; or

3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in "2" above on the basis that 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university is equated to one year of experience. In addition, 24 semester credits from an accredited college, university or graduate school in computer science or a related field, or a certificate of at least 625 hours in computer programming from an accredited technical school (post high school), may be substituted for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least one year of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in "1" above.

COMPUTER SPECIALIST I-IV (SOFTWARE)

1. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented

by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related computer field and two

years of satisfactory full-time computer software experience in computer

systems development and analysis, applications programming, database

administration, maintenance and support, systems programming, data

communications, mainframe development, mobile development, web

development and design, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a

major contributor on a complex project; or

2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of

satisfactory full-time computer software experience as described in ʺ1ʺ above,

including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a

complex project; or

3. Education and/or experience equivalent to ʺ1ʺ or ʺ2ʺ above. College education

may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in ʺ2ʺ above

on the basis that 60 semester credits from an accredited college is equated to

one year of experience. A Masters degree in computer science or a related

computer field, or a certificate of at least 625 hours in computer programming

from an accredited technical school (post high school), may be substituted for

one year of the required experience in ʺ1ʺ or ʺ2ʺ above. However, all candidates

must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent

and at least one year of satisfactory full-time experience in a project leader

capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.

Special Note

To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level IV, in addition to the Qualification

Requirements stated above, individuals must have one additional year of satisfactory

experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project

in data administration, database management systems, operating systems, data

communications systems, capacity planning, and/or applications programming.

Desired Skills:

Test Equipment usage including but not limited to: Protocol Analyzers, Network Analyzers, NTI, meters, RF and communications.Strong PC skills in Microsoft and Linux.Software application usage of Microsoft Office, Libre Office, Open Exchange, Virtual Machines, GNU compiler, BASH, KiCAD, FreeCAD, AutoCAD, Python, Visual Basic, C++, OrCAD Schematic Capture, LabView, LabWindows, PL/SQL, Java, HTML and Spear.System and Device Management such as networking, Echelon LON Networks, Ethernet and TCP/IP.Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
