Overall Job Summary
Oversee, monitor, and evaluate leave of absence (LOA) programs, processes, workflow, and reporting. This position focuses on LOA administration in support of the company's health and welfare benefits administration plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
Serve as a point-of-contact for team members and management regarding leaves of absence issues and related processes. Identify and resolve day-to-day LOA issues in conjunction with company policies, precedents, and applicable state lawMonitor LOA policies and procedures, coordinating with multiple types of leave and medical benefit plans and programs for effective application and compliance.Facilitate, audit and coordinate the daily work flow, including assigning leave cases and related tasks/projects to team members administering leaves.Apply knowledge of Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), Section 125, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADAAA), Workers Compensation, and state laws to determine appropriate decisions for Team Member leave cases.Monitor state leave laws for changes and updates. Work cross-functionally with payroll, timekeeping, and IT teams to implement system changes based on state law changes.Assist management in ongoing development and improvement of the TSC's benefits and LOA policies and procedures. Work cross functionally with other areas of Human Resources and other departments to ensure effective compliance.Report on key LOA metrics and provide management reporting and analytics from the Kronos LOA system as requested by management.Ensure that outside vendors comply with the terms of the short- and long-term disability plans and that the LOA team adheres to established procedures to ensure team members are able to file disability claims in a timely manner.Monitor the payment of extended sick pay benefits in a timely manner into timekeeping software per the payroll calendar and resolves discrepancies.Provide training and work review to benefit team members to ensure accuracy and compliance with all leave laws.Required Qualifications
Experience: 3-5 years of experience working in Benefits Administration is required.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
Knowledge of employer responsibilities under FMLA and ADA administration is required.Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Knowledge of ADP and Kronos is beneficial but not required.Ability to manipulate data to expedite project analyses and completion.Working Conditions
