In certain jurisdictions, CBIZ CPAs operates under its previous name, Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C.Essential Functions and Primary DutiesCollaborate with the National Tax Office team to perform tax technical research and analyses of domestic federal tax issues from CBIZ client engagement teams throughout the country, with an emphasis in practice areas that include tax accounting methods and tax practice and procedureLead the development and maintenance of practice aids, toolkits, and practical approaches that respond to industry and federal tax developments in a variety of subject matter areas, with an emphasis in tax accounting methods and tax practice and procedureRecognize business opportunities for our clients and for CBIZ, and participate in practice development activities that lead to the generation of new business and opportunities for cross-servesUtilize reading and writing skills as a contributing editor for the development of internal and external thought leadership publications and webinarsLiaise with professionals in various tax technical groups to assist with the flow of knowledge to and from these groupsParticipate in the development, management, evaluation, and distribution of specified policies and procedures, and assist with annual "tax quality review" processes for selected officesParticipate in production and delivery (including classroom instruction) of CBIZ Tax National Training programsDrive a team environment; demonstrate support of management decisions and builds a positive cultureAdditional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications9+ years of diverse tax compliance and consulting experience in the domestic federal tax area with a top-tier firmRegarded as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more tax technical areas, and shares knowledgeMaster's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related fieldStrong proficiency with tax research subscription services including Bloomberg Tax, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, CCH AnswerConnect, and Tax AnalystsProficient use of tax technology (e.g., CCH Axcess Tax, CaseWare, various workflow and document management systems)Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong email etiquetteEagerness to be responsible at all timesProven track-record of success in high pressure, time-constrained environmentsTop-tier organizational skills and attention to detailSelf-starter and entrepreneurial in nature

Qualifications RequiredBachelor's degree required8 years experience in public accounting or related field5 years supervisoryMust have active CPA or equivalent certificationAbility to manage all aspects of client engagementsAbility to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessaryDemonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externallyProficient use of applicable technologyMust be able to travel based on business needs

The annual salary target for this job in this market is $140,000 - $200,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.The compensation above is not representative of an employee's total compensation.
