Description*THIS IS A SECOND SHIFT POSITIONAt Armstrong, our old-fashioned values and integrity meet modern-day challenges in developing intelligent system solutions. We are currently looking to hire a 2nd shift CNC Lathe Operator to join the Steam and Condensate Group. New hires will train on 1st shift and will transfer to 2nd shift as soon as they are able to work independently. We are also offering a $1000 sign-on bonus for individuals with CNC experience.

Key Responsibilities•Ability to read and interpret blue prints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written instructions•Knowledge of machine settings•Understand measuring equipment for metal working•Perform tool offsets & minor program changes•Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and modify program when required•Understanding of index-able, carbide, and high-speed tooling•Examine work pieces for defects and measure components to ensure conformance with specifications•Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and adheres to all safety procedures•Responsible for preventive maintenance on machines•This is a mobile position with typical weight lifting requirements of ten pounds, but may be up to fifty poundsperiodically. Material handling equipment is used on all heavy loads.•Perform quality checks

Key Requirements•Assembly experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment a must.•Experience working in an environment while maintaining attention to detail.•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, IFS or related software used for data entry and recordkeeping.•Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.•Detail-oriented, organized and consistent.•Works well as a productive member of a team.•Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment.•Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.•Ability to read and interpret blue prints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other writteninstructions•Knowledge of machine settings•Understand measuring equipment for metal working•Perform tool offsets & minor program changes•Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and modify program when required•Understanding of index-able, carbide, and high-speed tooling•Examine work pieces for defects and measure components to ensure conformance withspecifications•Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and adheres to all safetyprocedures•Responsible for preventive maintenance on machines•This is a mobile position with typical weight lifting requirements of ten pounds, but may be up tofifty pounds periodically. Physical Requirements•Ability to maintain prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.•Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time, as many items are cumbersome and heavy.•Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products as directed.•Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.•Physical and Mental stamina to stand, walk, lift, and adjust to the noise and lighting of themanufacturing environment.
