Job Overview
We are in search of a strategic and forward-thinking Chief Information Officer (CIO) to become an integral part of our senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the president, the CIO will spearhead the management and advancement of information technology throughout the institution. This pivotal role will significantly influence our strategic direction and cultivate a responsive, service-oriented IT framework that aligns with our institutional mission and objectives.Key Responsibilities
Formulate and implement the strategic vision for Enterprise Technology Services (ETS), ensuring synchronization with institutional goals.Lead and oversee the adoption of innovative IT solutions, including modern ERP and HCM systems, to optimize university operations and enhance process efficiencies.Collaborate with senior leadership to create IT systems that streamline data collection, sharing, and decision-making across all levels of the organization.Guarantee exceptional service delivery to all end users, including students, faculty, and staff, through an IT Shared Services model that emphasizes transparency and engagement.Lead the recruitment, mentoring, and motivation of a diverse IT team while fostering an inclusive environment that supports professional growth and identifies areas for improvement.Oversee the annual operating and capital budget for IT, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and fiscal guidelines.Provide forward-looking leadership by exploring cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), to create a technology-savvy environment that meets current and future demands.Ensure effective IT governance and compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR) while maintaining a comprehensive disaster recovery plan.Regularly engage with the Board of Trustees Audit Committee to deliver updates on information security and data privacy challenges, addressing internal audits as necessary.Supervise all technology-related operations, encompassing academic and research computing, administrative services, data security, and network services.Manage vendor negotiations and cultivate partnerships with governmental agencies, non-profits, and other educational institutions.Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related discipline is highly preferred.A minimum of ten years of experience in information technology, with significant management experience and a proven success record in planning and executing technology initiatives, ideally within a large or multifaceted organization.Demonstrated financial acumen in strategic planning, budget oversight, and resource management, with a strong grasp of the cybersecurity landscape and risk mitigation.Solid technical foundation with expertise in large-scale project management and experience in negotiations with major vendors and suppliers.Career Growth Opportunities
