Position Title : DHS Computer Systems Engineer

OneZero Solutions is on contract to provide division-wide support for Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) compliance, execution of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) security authorizations, and deliver cyber security compliance for DHS operational mission systems. We are looking for personnel to support our DHS customer in achieving its mission of providing division-wide cyber security support for operational mission systems and assisting programs as they navigate the ATO process. The result of these efforts will be that the systems meet all the requirements for ATO approval before they are officially submitted to the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
Qualified Parking Allowance: Employer may provide a monthly stipend or cover the cost of parking for employees who commute to government site by car.
Job Summary
Design, build, and configure Windows and Linux servers to meet mission needs.Ensure the integration of servers into the existing network infrastructure with minimal disruption.Implement and enforce security measures, including operating system hardening based on DHS guidance, DISA STIGs and vendor guidance.Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards.Manage the patching process for Windows and Linux servers and ensure all systems are up-to-date and secure.Develop and maintain a comprehensive log management strategy, including log aggregation, log analysis, log retention and log disposition.Develop and maintain a comprehensive patch management strategy, including scheduling, testing, and deployment of updates.Provide advanced troubleshooting for both Windows and Linux operating systems, resolving complex technical issues.Serve as an escalation point for critical system failures, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.Perform regular vulnerability scans and analyze results to identify potential risks to the environment.Collaborate with security teams to develop and implement remediation plans for identified vulnerabilities.Lead the installation and configuration of new systems, ensuring they meet organizational standards and security requirements.Develop and maintain documentation for all system installations, configurations, and changes.Qualifications
12+ years of direct experience in IT security within the DoD/Federal Government.Experience within the Intelligence Community and Law Enforcement is a strong plus.Demonstrated expertise in IT systems and security technologies, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and security information and event management (SIEM) tools.Proficiency in conducting IT security assessments and penetration testing.Strong understanding of IT network security principles and best practices. Federal Information System Modernization Act, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), and ISA/IEC 62443.Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education
Windows 10 and later / Windows Server 2016 and later, VMware virtual environments utilizing vSphere, PowerShell, VMware, CompTIA Security+ Certification on Operating System (OS), CASP+, CCNP, or other advanced network and computer systems administrator related certifications."
