In this role, you will use your hands-on experience operating lathes, mills, grinders, and other manual machine tools to manufacture precision parts essential to our manufacturing process. Duties, responsibilities, activities, physical demands, and work environment may change at any time with or without notice.ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform set-up, adjustment, and operation of a variety of manual machines within the machine shop.Operate fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools to check tolerances and quality of parts produced.Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify defects and ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjust machine controls to resolve production errors.Maintain accurate records in the company's system regarding time to complete the job, completed quantity, and scrap quantity.Read and understand layouts, job travelers, and blueprints for the parts being run, including geometric tolerancing.Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required.Follow set-up procedures and recommend improvements.Inspect machinery for any needed repairs; perform minor repairs within expertise.Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area.Comply with applicable safety standards and regulations.Perform other related duties as assigned.EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES:Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.Journeyman Machinist desired.Ability to read blueprints and plans.Excellent mechanical skills.Excellent time management skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.High school diploma or equivalent required.
