Description
The Commercial Loan Officer will originate, manage, and supervise the LAFCU's portfolio of commercial loans with the objective of growing the portfolio while ensuring good asset quality. The role involves developing new and existing business relationships and supporting the Credit Union's mission.
Requirements
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Seek out and process applications for commercial loans, assess the financial condition of members, and make underwriting decisions within approval authority. Manage loan documentation and closings in conjunction with the commercial loan CUSO.Develop lending and deposit business by expanding existing member relationships and seeking opportunities to grow the member base. Collaborate with the Marketing team on campaigns.Monitor the existing loan portfolio to maintain asset quality, including updating financial statements and loan documentation.Assist in collecting past-due loans.Participate in CUSO participation calls and recommend or approve loan participations.Address members' loan-related questions and concerns.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in sales and business lending.Education: A college degree, preferably in a relevant field.Interpersonal Skills: Extensive personal contact, often of a sensitive nature. Requires motivating, influencing, and fostering strong relationships with others, including selling ideas or services.Other Skills: Must be experienced in analyzing business financials and assessing business viability. Strong communication and public relations skills are essential, as well as proficiency with related software.
