Job Summary
The Senior Tax Analyst, Indirect Tax will work with the Senior Tax Manager as well as the Group Tax Director to assist in the preparation of the Indirect Tax compliance process which includes Sales & Use Taxes, Abandoned Unclaimed Property Taxes, Canadian VAT, Personal Property Taxes, and various other tax types for TAH and its subsidiaries. S/he will manage tax audits conducted by multiple taxing jurisdictions and will keep current on the tax laws of the medical device industry for multiple taxing jurisdictions to maintain the product taxability matrix, products purchased taxability matrix, and customers’ exemption/resale certificates. This individual will assist in maintaining corporate wide policies and procedures to ensure that TAH and its subsidiaries remain in compliance with multiple taxing jurisdictions for various tax types.
Job Details/Responsibilities
Policy and Procedure:
o Work with all operating companies to establish written procedures and best practices for proper handling of various taxes covering areas, such as reporting
o Work with internal audit to establish internal control documentation and recommending testing protocols
Compliance:
o Preparation of Sales and Use Tax Returns and Abandoned Unclaimed Property Tax Returns
o Preparation of Canadian VAT Returns
o Preparation of Puerto Rico Tax Returns
o Assist all operating companies in ensuring proper filing jurisdictions (Nexus)
o Research to properly classify new products and products purchased
o Work directly with A/R, A/P, and BU Controllers on proper tax status of customers’ purchases, taxability of company purchases, and other direct marketing products, such as samples
o Determination of purchases and goods movement subject to Consumer’s Use Tax
o Maintain process for updating jurisdictional exemption/resale certificates to stay in compliance
o Assist with SAP Implementation

o Assist to document and maintain procedures
Advice on Taxes:
o Assist in Sales & Use Tax matters to ensure compliance
-includes researching sales and use tax nexus
-tax status of products sold
-use tax filing requirements on products purchased and distribution of collateral/samples
o Prepare and maintain documentation to summarize research, position taken and/or decisions made
Audits:
o Assist state and local audits
o Assist in reverse audits
o Maintain appropriate documentation for audits
Support the Senior Tax Manager and Director of Tax as required on all Indirect Tax matters
Assist the Senior Tax Manager to keep the Director of Tax informed of all Indirect Tax exposures, savings, and opportunities
Assist in dealing with customers on sales tax refund claims and other customer related issues
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Interpersonal skills to partner with accounting managers and staff within Group Companies and secure cooperation
Ability to establish relationships and work in a matrix organization is critical
Ability to multitask
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Flexibility to work overtime when needed to complete special projects, audits, and compliance if needed
Qualifications/ Background Experiences
Bachelor;s in Finance or Accounting or equivalent combination of education and background experiences
Tax Professional with minimum 6 years sales and use tax experience
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Experience with SAP S4/HANA ERP System is strongly preferred
Familiarity with OneSource Global Tax Software is preferred
Familiarity with a tax research software, such as BNA and CCH preferred
